One night in 1990 my home phone rang. A call from a customer announcing that he was leaving his job and going into business for himself. He was looking for a Roll Pak and a Bedding Miser. I just happened to know where I might find both tools and could perhaps sell these items to him.
The very next day I purchased those tools and sold them to my new customer. That night I made a few calls to potential suppliers for other goods and quickly learned that I became a dealer for some future products such as lasers, shoring equipment and buckets.
All this happened overnight so to speak. After working for others in the construction wear parts supply business for 30 years, 1 decided to give it a try and go into business on my own with very little capital. With dedication and hard work I was able to get a foothold in the industry I loved and was familiar with.
JB Industries was founded as we moved forward. Today after 25 years as JB Industries we employ 6 people. We have a full welding shop and are experts at rebuilding excavator and wheel loader buckets. We are a Black Cat dealer and unlike small weld shops, we can supply teeth and adapters and cutting edges for those buckets. We have a burn table which assists us in building bucket lips and weld-in corners along with wear strips using our 450 abrasive and impact resistant wear plate which we stock.
